Mali coach Henry Kasperczak said he was expecting to fall in an easier group than Group D, which also comprises Guinea, Ivory Coast and Cameroon.
“We didn’t get a cool group. We fell into another group of death. During the last two editions Mali finished off with bronze, which we are supposed to maintain or ameliorate,” Kasperczak said.
“For this edition, I think we’ll be handling one game at a time. We’ll try to build a winning spirit. We will meet Cameroon and Ivory Coast, but don’t underestimate Guinea. They are a tough side as well.
“Generally, I think it is a balanced group. All the matches will be tough and I feel the qualification will be determined in the final match day of the group,” he said.
