The first Oil Cup tournament involving Hearts and Kotoko has been called off due to cash constraints.

The other two teams slated to have been part were Medeama and Hasaacas, and it was aimed at celebrating Ghana’s oil.

Due to have started on Friday, it has been called off by the organisers, Absolute Peace International (API).

The Oil Cup tournament was to run for two days at the Essipong Stadium in Sekondi but despite agreement with all the four clubs to go on, sponsorship disappointment proved to be the bane of the event.
