Medeama Sporting Club goalkeeper Muntari Tagoe says he is looking forward to getting a place in the Black Stars team under Avram Grant.
Tagoe was nominated for the Best Goalkeeper award in last season’s Ghana Premier League and he is certain that his efforts should be enough to get him a call into the national team but he admits the decision is solely Grant’s.
” It has always been my aim to play for the country and that is we all aim to do. But of course, that choice can only be made by the coach and the selectors.
They come to watch us play every time and so, if they find me fit for the role, I will take it. For me, I will continue to work hard.
Last season’s nomination for the best goalkeeper means I need to keep my performances at a high level,” Tagoe told Citi Sports in an interview on Monday.
Tagoe is contracted to Medeama until 2016 and has helped the team finish 4th on 23 points at the end of the first round of the First Capital Plus Premier League.
