Black Stars coach Avram Grant says he believes Ghana can make it through the FIFA 2018 World Cup qualifiers and get to the main tournament.
Ghana was drawn to face either Comoros or Lesotho in the second round of the qualifiers to be played in November this year.
Grant admits that countries will pose some problems but Ghana has the quality to go to Russia 2018.
” The group stages for the World Cup qualifiers will be difficult because it is a continent with a lot of good teams.
Unfortunately, only less than ten percent will qualify compared to South America which will have almost 50 percent qualifying and Europe which will have about 30 percent making it to the World Cup proper.
It will be tough but we have a good team and we can go all the way.”
After the second round of the qualifiers in November, the successful teams will be put in five groups of four teams each. The various group winners will then head to the World Cup finals in Russia to represent Africa.
The Black Stars coach went ahead to express his confidence in Russia’s ability to pull off a good tournament for the world.
“I think the Russians are good people and they are professional in the things they do. We will all see that they will organise a very good World Cup. They will be no question marks about the tournament.”
