Jordan Ayew found the net for the second time in his debut season for Aston Villa but his strike could not stop his team from a 3-1 loss at Tottenham Hotspur on Monday.
The Ghanaian forward came off the bench for Westwood in the 38th minute and found the net in the 80th through a shot that took a deflection off Jan Vertonghen to make the score 2-1.
Spurs had scored twice in the first half through Moussa Dembele and Delle Ali and they scored a third from a Harry Kane strike.
The defeat was Villa’s 9th from the 11 matches they have played this season.
They face Manchester City on Sunday and it will be the first match for new coach Remi Garde.
