Black Stars attacker Andre Ayew has urged his team-mates to be cautious of Comoros ahead of today’s match in Moroni.
The Black Stars head into the match, which is the first leg of the second round of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers, as favourites but Ayew is telling his colleagues not to disrespect their opponents.
“It is an opportunity to for them to play so their fans will be very excited. There will be a lot of fever and so we need to be careful. We need to do our job and come back to finish it off in Kumasi.”
Comoros are ranked 177 in the world and they may not have huge names but Ayew is familiar with a few of their players and states that they have good capabilities.
He also wants Ghana to have the hunger and desire to get a good result on Friday.
“I know some of their players who were in the Marseille junior team with me and with other teams.
They may not have made it but they are talented enough for the big time and I am not going to underrate them at all.
In football, one can have the technical and tactical advantages but if there is no desire and fighting spirit, then it will be difficult to make it.”
The match kicks off at 12 noon Ghana time and the second leg is on November 17 in Kumasi.
