Emmanuel “Game Boy” Tagoe has revealed his fighting style ahead of his bout against Tanzanian opponent, Allan Kamote, at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday.
Tagoe is to defend his WBA International Lightweight belt against Kamote in a mandatory challenge after failing to secure bouts in South Africa and the United Kingdom.
Speaking at the weigh-in session at the Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday, he stated he would display what he termed as “La Gata” style against the Tanzanian.
(The term “La Gata” comes from a popular series which airs on local television)
“You are all aware of the bout and I am overawed by it. I am very elated at the prospect of fighting. I want everyone to take note of something.
What’s the most popular series on local television now? It’s La Gata, right? So I will put up a La Gata style in the ring.
I would like to thank all those who have taken time off to come to this event and I am happy at the excitement you the fans have brought to this weigh-in session.”
Kamote spoke through his interpreter and expressed his gratitude at getting the chance to fight. He also urged fans to come in their numbers.
“I would like to say thank you to Baby Jet Promotions for giving me this chance. It is the second time I am fighting here and it is always good.
The fans should not miss the fight because it will be an exhibition of two good boxers. The fans should come to the stadium.”
