Aston Villa boss Remi Garde believes Ghanaian forward Jordan Ayew will be key to their survival this season.
The Villans are at the bottom of the Barclays Premier League table with 7 points from the 17 matches played so far.
Ayew scored his fourth goal of the season in Aston Villa’s 1-1 with Newcastle last Saturday and after the match, Garde praised the forward’s abilities and said the former Lorient forward could play a vital role in their fight to stay up in the league.
“He is a very gifted player. He works so hard in the training sessions to give the best for the team. I am very happy for him. I believe he could score goals for us in the second part of the season.”
“He’s got the pace. He’s got the stamina as well. He’s a special player. He’s a decisive player and hopefully he will score more goals.”
Aston Villa face a busy festive period with matches against West Ham (on December 26), Norwich City (December 28), Sunderland (January 2).
