On Day 4 of the African boxing qualifiers for the Rio Games happening in Cameroon, Ghana’s Suleman Tetteh lost to Warui Peter Mungai of Kenya via a unanimous decision in the quarter finals of the men’s light flyweight 46-49 kg.
Tetteh lost 29-28, 29-28 and 30-27 on the judges scorecard.
Sandyman Emmanuel also lost his bout to Cape Verde’s Davilson Morais Dos Santos in the super heavyweight 91kg division.
Sandyman lost 30-25, 30-24 and 30-25 on the cards.
Both bouts were part of the afternoon session on Monday.
The evening session gave Ghana a more positive outlook with two wins.
Akimos Annang Ampiah beat Luben Kandimba of Namibia by 30-27 on the three scorecards in the preliminaries of the men’s light flyweight 52kg.
Musah Rahman Lawson won his bout via a technical knockout over Nigeria’s Mojeed Adeniji in the men’s middleweight 75kg.
Later on Tuesday, David Akonkolim will face Prudence Kuadjovi of Togo in the men’s 91kg quarter final.
