Astana FC forward Patrick Twumasi says he is hoping to play a key role in Ghana’s Afcon 2017 qualifier against Mauritius.

The Kazakhstan based forward joins Kadiri Mohammed of Ashanti Gold and Thomas Partey of Atletico Madrid as the new entrants invited by Avram Grant.

Twumasi has been drafted into the team as replacement for David Accam and Abdul Majeed Warris after scoring 2 goals in 12 appearances in all competitions.

“I thank God for the opportunity to represent my nation and its a great feeling and I was excited with the call up.

“It doesn’t matter what position the coach puts me in I am just happy that I can help the team in what ever way possible.

“I am motivated on a personal level but we are all concentrating on qualifying to the Afcon because that’s all that matters now.

The Black Stars are expected to fly out of Ghana on Thursday for Mauritius ahead of the match which is on Sunday.
