The Minister of Youth and Sports, Nii Lante Vanderpuye, says his outfit is ready to be a partner to firms interested in sponsoring sports in the country.
He explained that the Minstry was willing to create a conducive atmosphere for firms which were willing to get into sports. He said a lot would be done to help such companies in terms of paperwork and mileage.
He was speaking at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday after witnessing the bout between Isaac Dogboe and Edward Kekembo of Uganda for the WBO African Featherweight title.
“We are ready to work with any firm in this country interested in sponsoring any of our sporting disciplines especially amateur and professional boxing.
We are willing to work out and reduce the bureaucracy involved and help them enjoy the full benefits of sponsoring sports in Ghana.”
The Minister’s declaration adds further steam to his drive of getting more corporate sponsorship for the sports domain.
He has said on several occasions that he would put in a lot of effort to get more funding for the domain to ensure its growth and development.
