Ghana’s Janet Amponsah finished 6th in heat 4 of the women’s 200m event in the ongoing Rio Olympic Games.
Amponsah was in the heat with Cote d’Ivoire’s Marie-Josee Ta Lou and new women’s 100m champion Elaine Thompson and those two topped the race.
Ta Lou came first in a time of 22.31 seconds while Thompson was second with 22.63 seconds.
The two have qualified for the semi-finals.
For Amponsah, her time was below her personal best time of 22.99 seconds recorded on the 8th of July in Cape Coast and that helped her qualify for the Olympic Games.
