Head coach of the Black Stars, Avram Grant, believes Ghana can still defeat Egypt, despite the absence of skipper Asamoah Gyan due to injury.
Gyan, who suffered a thigh injury on club duty, will be a big miss for the Black Stars, but Coach Avram Grant remains confident of defeating the Egyptians without the skipper.
Grant stressed on his faith in the squad, and backed the selected players to come out with victory.
”We have showed that with the right team spirit we can produce a good result. We did it in AFCON when we played without many key players.”
“This is why we have a big squad, and we need to show fighting spirit as a team, and then we can achieve a good result.”
Avram Grant, also addressed reports in Egypt suggesting there was wide spread joy at the news that, Asamoah Gyan was missing the big game, describing it as a normal reaction.
“Imagine they played without Salah, and without Elneny, we would also be happy,” Grant said.
West Ham United record signing, Andre Ayew is expected to captain the Stars in the absence of Asamoah Gyan.
