Ghana midfielder Michael Essien has been training at Chelsea’s Cobham training complex in a bid to stay fit.
The 33-year-old is without a club since leaving Greek giants Panathinaikos.
The Ghana international is back at Chelsea’s training facility where he has been keeping fit at the gym.
Citi Sports sources say that Essien has been working with Chelsea’s reserve and U-18 teams on a very regular basis including weekends.
The legendary midfielder enjoyed a successful nine-year spell at Chelsea where he won several titles including the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup as well as being named Chelsea Player of the Year in 2007.
The former BBC African Footballer of the Year has insisted he has not retired from the game as he pushes to join a new club.
