Black Stars Head Coach, Avram Grant, has called for unity within the country’s football fraternity ahead of the AFCON in Gabon.
Ghana has had recent episodes of rifts between the playing body, the football association and the sports ministry.
Grant explained that in order for the country to have a chance of ending their thirty five year old AFCON drought, all stakeholders involved with the team needed to unite to provide the team with the peace of mind they need.
“I want to say that everybody has to be together until the end of the tournament, no matter what will happen.
We did it in the last tournament, and we only lost by penalties.
We want to win, but we are not the only ones. There are a lot of good teams coming into the tournament, and I think there is not much difference between the big teams. So I think the difference will be spirit.”
The Black Stars are scheduled to face off against Uganda on Tuesday in the group D opener, before taking on Mali and Egypt respectively.
