Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan has sent out a strong warning to the Pharaohs of Egypt ahead of the Black Stars final group game in the ongoing AFCON tournament, saying his team is going to use the game to set the record straight.
Egypt defeated the Black Stars in the final of the 2010 AFCON Edition, and also most recently in a FIFA World Cup qualifier in Alexandria, and the Black Stars will be looking to get one over the Egyptians on Wednesday.
Ghana has already qualified for the quarterfinal of the competition, but Asamoah Gyan says that will not stop them from going all out against Egypt.
“I think for our current team, we have got about 50% of those who participated in the AFCON 2010 here, and we are more matured and experienced.”
“They have a new team, with good players as well, but you cannot base the game on history. As we always say, we are coming for revenge.”
“They beat us in the qualifiers, and we want to come for revenge and to make our country happy, we want to win.”
“It doesn’t matter the tactics they bring on the table, we also have a great coach who has his own tactics.”
“We are playing in a tournament right now, and that is a different thing altogether. For me I think it’s clear that we are coming in to win.”
