Black Stars coach Avram Grant has lauded the performances of the new players who featured in the team’s 1-0 loss to Egypt in the final Group D encounter in the 2017 AFCON.

The Israeli handed starts to Andy Yiadom and Samuel Tetteh while Bernard Terkpetey made a second half appearance.

After the match, Grant said he pleased with the output of the debutants and he added that making the changes gave his regular players a chance to catch a breather ahead of the quarter final against DR Congo in Oyem.

“It was a good chance for the players and I think they did well but we lost the game. However, that was not the post important thing. The main thing was that we made it to the quarter final against DR Congo.

The new players tried their best and they showed a good spirit. The changes helped the other players to get a rest.”

Ghana finished second in the group with 6 points while Egypt topped with 7.
