Out-going Ghana Black Stars coach Avram Grant has revealed he is feeling sad after working with the players of the Black Stars for the last two years.
Grant took over from Kwesi Appiah in December 2014 and guided the national side to a second-place finish at the 2015 Afcon in Equatorial Guinea.
However, he was unable to repeat that feat this time around, losing 2-0 in the semi-finals to eventual winners Cameroon and also falling to a 1-0 defeat against Burkina Faso in the third-place playoff.
In a move seen as jumping before being pushed, the former Chelsea boss decided to throw in the towel with barely two weeks to end his contract.
He however admits leaving has left a bitter taste in his mouth.
“I am sad am leaving Ghana,” the Isreali trainer told Starr FM presenter Bola Ray on Wednesday adding “I’ve hugely enjoyed my time in Ghana.”
Grant has been linked with the vacant post of South Africa head coach after Shakes Mashaba was fired.
