Orlando Pirates part ways with defender Edwin Gyimah

South African giants Orlando Pirates have confirmed terminating the contract of Ghana international Edwin Gyimah at the player’s own request.

Gyimah has been with the Bucs after signing with from Mpumulanga Black Aces in 2015.

The former Super Sport United defender, who can play in midfield, decided to call it quits after enduring a very difficult start to the season.

Below is the statement Pirates posted on their website:

Orlando Pirates Football Club has parted ways with Edwin Gyimah .

The Club has agreed to release the player as per his request.

Gyimah had submitted a request in writing prior to his departure to the African Cup of Nations where he was to go on national duty with Ghana.

The club has acceded to Mr Gyimah’s request and wish him all of the best in his future endeavours.
