The Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) has released the list of candidates vying for positions in the next administration of the committee ahead of elections on March 15, 2017 at the Alisa Hotel in Accra.

The elections had been a source of debate among sporting federations under the committee since some quarters believed that the current administration led by Professor Francis Dodoo was unwilling to set a date for the event since it could mark the end of the tenure.

Professor Dodoo, on the other hand, explained on several occasions that the elections would be held at a time agreed on by all the federations and that due processes in line with the International Olympic Committee had to be respected so as to create the grounds for results and outcomes which would please all parties.

The list released by the GOC has Professor Francis Dodoo, who is the President of the Ghana Athletics Association, going for the position of President with his main contender being Ben Nunoo-Mensah, President of the Ghana Weightlifting Federation.
