Hearts of Oak head coach, Frank Nuttal, has backed forward Cosmos Dauda despite the lack of goals from the player.
Dauda has been the subject of criticism from the team’s fans over the dry scoring patch this season.
Last season, he got 11 goals for the team but with the first round almost over, he has found the net only once and that is not pleasing to the fans who have asked for him to kept on the bench.
Nuttal said after the team’s 1-1 draw with Elmina Sharks that Dauda was still an important part of his plans but the player had to put in work to bring in the goals.
“People look at Cosmos Dauda with only one eye open or maybe they have a slanted opinion of the player but this was the top scorer for the club last year.”
“This a guy who works physically very hard so I will continue to support him but he knows like everyone else about how they need to keep working hard to stay in the team.
“We have got guys who can come off the bench and are really trying as well.”
Hearts have so far scored 11 goals and conceded 2 in the Ghana Premier League.
