Chairman of the GFA Legal Committee Ernest Thompson has called for forbearance as Kwesi Appiah takes charge of Ghana’s Black Stars for a second spell.
He served as Ghana’s assistant coach from 2007-2012 and was later handed the job on a full time basis in April 2012, he managed to qualify Ghana to the World Cup.
He has been handed a two year contract with an option to extend while being expected to qualify and also win Afcon 2019.
He has named a back room staff that includes two assistants as a well as former Ghana captain Stephen Appiah who is expected to serve as a technical coordinator.
“What matters is the amount of support he will get to succeed and a little bit of patience.
“He will now have to spend time introducing his philosophy to the team and getting them familiar with his pattern of play.
“I hope that Ghanaians will give him time to settle instead of calling for his head after just a few games on the job.
Appiah’s first assignment comes against Ethiopia in the Afcon 2019 qualifiers.
