The second round of the Ghana Premier League began with Asante Kotoko finding the first win since losing to Hearts of Oak in March.
The Porcupine Warriors beat Tema Youth on the road 1-0 thanks to Baba Mahama’s 74th minute strike. The win moved Kotok0 to 5th on the league log on 24 points.
Aduana Stars moved to the top of the Ghana Premier League after beating Bechem United 3-0 in Dormaa. Two goals from Nathaniel Asamoah and Sam Adams settled the tie and Aduana now have 33 points.
WAFA are now second on 32 points after losing 1-0 to Inter Allies at the El-Wak Stadium. Former WAFA player, Martin Antwi, stung his former side with the winning goal in the 50th minute.
Hearts of Oak drew 1-1 with Liberty Professionals at the Accra Sports Stadium. Benjamin Eshun put Liberty ahead in the 34th minute after he connect a cross from the left wing but on the stroke of half time, Vincent Atinga got the equaliser via a penalty.
Hearts are 3rd on 27 points while Liberty are 12th on 18 points.
Medeama Sporting Club were the biggest winners on the day with a 5-1 win over Bolga All Stars in Tarkwa.
Bernard Ofori got a hat-trick with Latif Salifu and Mershak Odoom scoring the goals for the Yellow and Mauves.
Mohammed Odoom got the consolation for Bolga All Stars.
Defending league champions, Wa All Stars drew 1-1 at home with AshantiGold.
David Abagna put All Stars scored in the 11th minute to cancel Shafiu Mumuni’s 9th minute goal.
Great Olympics beat Berekum Chelsea 1-0 thanks to a second half goal from Coffie Bekoe. Olympics are now 11th on 18 points while Chelsea are 7th on 22 points.
The second installment of the Central Regional showdown went in favour of Ebusua Dwarfs via a 3-1 result against Elmina Sharks.
Isaac Kwain, Osman Mohammed and Nicholas Gyan got the goals for Dwarfs while Benjamin Boateng got the consolation for Sharks.
