MTN FA Cup Round of 16: Kotoko, Hearts progress as holders Bechem United exit

Berekum Chelsea thumped defending MTN FA Cup champions, Bechem United, 4-0 to book a place in the last 8 of the competition.

Stephen Sarfo (2 goals), Alfred Okai and Micheal Yeboah got the goals for Chelsea on the day as they left Bechem United empty-handed.

Kotoko went through the quarter finals with a 1-0 home win over Wassaman United. Amos Frimpong got the winning goal from the penalty spot in the 36th minute of the first half.

Hearts of Oak also went through by a 1-0 scoreline away to Young Wise FC. Abdul Rahman Abdullah scored against his own team to send the Phobians to the quarters.

Medeama joined the list for the last 8 after they beat Elmina Sharks 1-0 in Tarkwa. Medema captain, Tettey Zutah, scored the deciding goal in the first half.

Amidaus Professionals rewarded themselves with the result of the round after defeating WAFA 1-0 in Tema.

Nea Salamina’s good run in the competition continued with a 2-0 win over Steadfast FC.

Defending Ghana Premier League champions, Wa All Stars were 2-1 winners away to Samartex FC.

Liberty Professionals lost 9-8 on penalties to Danbort FC in Nungua.

The match ended 1-1 after 90 minutes.
