Ghana will bag USD 450,000 from the two friendlies against Mexico and the United States in the US.
The team is currently in the States preparing to play against the United States on July 1 after losing 1-0 to Mexico on Wednesday.
Ghana will play against the Yanks in Connecticut in the second friendly match.
Sports Minister, Isaac Asiamah, revealed the financial benefit of the matches on Thursday in an interaction with the media.
“If you look at the agreement that was brought to me, one can see all the needed details. I told the Ghana Football Association that the government would not spend any money on these matches.
I went on to tell them that we were hoping to make some savings to help the nation.
I believe that the FA will present a report detailing their expenditure. The Mexicans are paying us USD 125, 000 while the USA match will bring in USD 325, 000. I am waiting for the FA to bring us the actual expenditure.”
