Medeama Sporting Club did a number on their former head coach, Tom Strand, when they beat Great Olympics 3-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The Yellow and Mauves have been unhappy with Strand since he left them without warning in South Africa during their campaign in the CAF Confederations Cup in 2015.

And they sought to get their revenge, at least on the field, with a very good display on the road in Accra. They got the win via goals from Justice Blay, Bismark Oppong  and Latif Salifu.

They were not the only team winning on the road in Week 23.

Elmina Sharks won their second straight win away from home when they beat AshGold 2-1 in Obuasi with goals coming from Eric Osei and Benjamin Tweneboah while AshGold got their their only goal from Prince Owusu.

The Miners had been in good form but they came unstuck with a performance described by C.K. Akunnor as “not being good enough”.

Aduana Stars drew level with WAFA at the top of the league table after a 2-0 win over Dwarfs in Dormaa. Bright Adjei got the goals on the day to give them 43 points.

Their fortunes were aided by WAFA’s 2-1 loss away at Berekum Chelsea. Stephen Sarfo got the goals for Chelsea while Richard Danso scored for WAFA.

Defending league champions, Wa All Stars, beat Liberty Professionals 2-1 in Wa. David Abagna put All Stars 1-0 but Emmanuel Sarpong levelled for Liberty late in the game. It looked like ending 1-1 until Matthew Kevin Ando scored for Wa All Stars.

The showdown of the two Tema teams- Tema Youth and Inter Allies at the Tema Stadium- went 3-1 in favour of Tema Youth.

Francis Adjetey, James Akaminko and Joseph Paintsil got the goals for Tema Youth while Abdul Nasiru Hamza got the consolation for Inter Allies.

On Saturday, Bechem United romped to a 4-0 win over Bolga All Stars at the Fosu Gyeabour Park.

Ahmed Toure got a hat trick and Maxwell Frimpong got a fourth to seal the win.

In all, 23 goals were scored in Week 23 with two teams, Elmina Sharks and Medeama, getting wins away from home.

There were no draws in the round as well.

The Super Clash between Kotoko and Hearts has been postponed indefinitely by the Premier League Board.
