Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld has re-emerged as a target for Italian giants Inter Milan, who are readying a late swoop for the Belgium international.
According to reports, the 28-year-old’s contract talks with the north Londoners have stalled in recent weeks, with the defender said to have demanded wages which stand alongside some of the club’s best-paid players.
With negotiations seemingly at a standstill, Alderweireld’s future at Spurs has been thrown into doubt and Inter are ready to pounce on the uncertainty.
Corriere dello Sport claim the San Siro giants are alive to the situation and are keeping close tabs with a view to making an unexpected move at the end of the window.
The defender started both of Tottenham’s opening league games and his current deal expires in 2020.
