The Ghana Football Association has moved Ghana’s last group game against Egypt in the 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers from Kumasi to Cape Coast, according to various reports.
Egyptian media reported Sunday that the Egyptian Football Association had received a letter from the Ghana FA informing them of the venue change. The reasons for the venue change were only reported as “technical”.
Ghana face Egypt, who have already qualified for the world cup, on November 12 with only pride to play for. The Egyptians suffered a humiliating 6-1 defeat at the hands of the Black Stars in their last visit to Ghana.
Egypt coach Hector Cuper has already named a foreign-dominated squad for the tie as he looks to test his team against the might of the Black Stars ahead of next summer’s event.
Kwesi Appiah, Ghana’s coach has yet to name his squad for the tie.
