Black Starlets captain Eric Ayiah has spoken about his disappointment at missing out on the goal king award at the ongoing FIFA U-17 World Cup.
Ghana were dumped out at the quarter final stage on Saturday at the hands of their rivals Mali after falling to a 2-1 defeat.
Ayiah who was joint top scorer at the U-17 African Championships earlier this year fell short of his target at the World Cup finishing with 3 goals two behind current leader Amine Gouiri of France.
“I am disappointed I could not win the Golden Boot. I was really aiming for that award. But that aside I am also disappointed we are exiting at this stage but God knows best so we leave it to him,” he said.
The Starlets defeat to Mali on Saturday was their third straight loss to their West African opponents in 2017.
