The Bukom Beatdown boxing event took place on Friday at the Bukom Boxing Arena by kind courtesy of Kalakoda Boxing Promotions and Kwesé Sports.
The event featured some of the top boxing talents from across West Africa and saw 7 bouts take place, 2 of which were WABU West Africa titles bouts.
In the main events, Abraham Tabul beat Stephen Abbey by a unanimous decision to win the vacant WABU Cruiserweight title, while Ghana’s Daniel Lartey only managed a draw against Ivery Coast’s Sie Palenfo.
Other results saw Cameroon’s Christian Ndzie beat Ghana’s Kofi Johnson, Agboson Yaovi beat Nuhu Azuma and there were also wins for Salif Ndjikam and Abraham Afful.
President of the Ghana Boxing Authority, Peter Zwennes was present at the event and he was happy with the opportunity it provided the local boxers to exhibit their skills.
“Kalakoda Promotions have been involved in big events all over the continent. They have done some work in Southern African and now, they bringing this event here.
It provides our boxers the opportunity and platform to be featured on those bills so we are happy,” he said.
A similar event is expected to take place on the 24th of November.
