The Black Stars arrived in Cape Coast on Tuesday to begin preparations for the match against Egypt on Sunday in the final 2018 World Cup qualifier.

Coach James Kwesi Appiah named 23 players for the assignment and has decided to pitch camp min Cape Coast 5 days before the tie.

In terms of points and impact on the qualifiers, the match means nothing to both teams but Appiah has said that the match will provide him with another opportunity to test the new-look Black Stars team he is putting together ahead of the resumption of the 2019 AFCON qualifiers and for future assignments.

Contrary to expectations that the team would train in Accra for a few days before heading to the Central Region, the Ghana FA’s Twitter handle announced on Tuesday morning that the team was traveling to the match venue to get ready for the game.

Christian Atsu was thought to be an injury doubt for the game after Newcastle said he was substituted over the weekend in the match against Bournemouth in the Premier League as a precaution but he has traveled with the Black Stars.

Citi Sports can also confirm that Abdul Majeed Waris is with the group after he was spotted at the Kotoko International Airport late on Saturday.

Here is the team called by Kwesi Appiah to face Egypt:
