Mubarak Wakaso says he is happy to be back with the Black Stars team and he feels great to be with his colleagues in the national team.
Wakaso is getting his first call under Kwesi Appiah since the coach was appointed in May this year.
Some observers had expressed worry about the midfielder’s absence from the group but the Alaves midfielder said that he was glad to be part of the 23-man team called by Kwesi Appiah for the match against Egypt on Sunday, November 12 at the Cape Coast Stadium.
“I am happy to be part of the family. There is no tension and there is difference between now and the past. Since I am part of the group, everything is fine.”
Wakaso scored the third goal in the team’s 5-1 win over non-league side, Glow Lamp Academy, in a friendly match on Thursday and urged the fans in Cape Coast to come and cheer them on Sunday against the Egyptians.
“Even though the match was just a friendly, the fans came to support us. We are pleading with them to give us their maximum support and we, in return, will give them the victory to make Ghanaians happy.”
