After years of grappling with violence and hooliganism, the Division One League is set to hold discussions aimed at bringing the situation under control ahead of the 2018 campaign.
Chairman of the Division One League Board Owuahene Acheampong, has indicated that improving the safety of all who attend matches is a major priority.
In the past sponsors of the league have expressed their unhappiness with regards to the manner in which hooliganism has gone unchecked and unpunished.
These plans will be put before the GFA,when it goes to congress.
“There are arrangements with regards to security and stewards.
“We are advocating the setting of stewards and stewardess for the clubs so that they can help manage the security situation.
“We have been doing this for years and some of the lessons we have learnt is that we need to get help for the police and the army.
“They will have to be paid, this forms part of the bills that will be coming in,” he told Citi Sports.
