West Ham forward Andre Ayew has urged his side to put Wednesday’s humiliating Premier League defeat against Everton behind them and look forward to better days.

The Hammers were thumped 4-0 at Goodison with Everton forward Wayne Rooney grabbing a hat-trick.

The result stretched their winless league run to seven games with their last win coming as far back as September succumbing new manager David Moyes to yet another defeat.

Ayew wants his teammates to take responsibility of their current situation and improve.

“We need to stay strong, be men, take responsibility and move forward. It’s been frustrating but we need to turn our season around,” he said.

“We need to get back to work and try and get some points. It’s not going to be easy. It will be difficult as we have tough games coming up.

“But we need to tune our mind and fight and try and get the maximum points that we can from those games. It’s been frustrating but we need to turn our season around.”

Andre Ayew joined the London club in 2016 from Swansea for a then club record fee of £20.5m contributing 8 goals and 5 assists in his 37 appearances so far.
