Captain of Wa All Stars Hafiz Adams is on the verge of completing a switch to premier league champions Aduana Stars.
The 26-year old has been training with the Dormaa-based side for a week and is set to sign the dotted lines in the next 48 hours.
The 2016 Ghana Premier League winner will be signed as a replacement for Godfred Saka, who is reported to be on his way to joining Nigerian Professional League side Enyimba FC.
Spokesperson for Wa All Stars Sani Abacha confirmed to Citi Sports all terms have been agreed for the player’s transfer.
“It is official. All Stars have agreed terms with the Dormaa-based side the player has agreed personal terms as well. It’s now a matter of putting pen to paper. But I can confirm that as at now, Hafiz is not a Wa All Stars player.”
Aduana Stars coach Yussif Abubakar had earlier confirmed the transfer to Graphic Sports saying: “Just today the Wa All Stars captain, Hafiz Adams, has started training with us for the right full back position. He is no longer with Wa All Stars; he is now with us and he is the only confirmed signing but we are close to signing other players from across Africa,”.
“Even if Godfred Saka comes back, we need a very strong all round team. He is just there for trial but if he is not successful we will welcome him back. He is out of contract but is still with us because we have not said goodbye yet.”
Hafiz becomes the second signing for Aduana Stars as they augment their squad ahead of the CAF Champions League next season. Last month, they confirmed the signing of Medeama left back Justice Anane on a 3-year contract.
