Cristiano Ronaldo is set to win his fifth Ballon d’Or award tonight in Paris – and he will pick up the trophy at the Eiffel Tower.

Ronaldo is set to go level with Lionel Messi on five Ballon d’Or awards each.

The Portugal star helped Real Madrid clinch back-to-back Champions League crowns in May and also won La Liga.

And despite his difficulties in La Liga this term he will win tonight’s award.

Leaked images of celebration boots have emerged online with the dates of Ronaldo’s Ballon d’Or successes and 2017 was included.

And his club president is sure he will win the prize again tonight.

“Ronaldo is one of our great symbols,” he said.

“He is the leading goalscorer in our history. A few days ago, he won his second “The Best” and this week he is going to win his fifth Ballon d’Or.”

Real Madrid team-mate Casemiro also thinks Ronaldo is set to win it again.

“Talking about Cristiano is normal,” Casemiro said.

“He is a player who always fights to break records.

“I do not know if he will win the Ballon d’Or but for me it is very clear. He deserves it and I hope he wins it.”
