Head Coach of Ghana Premier League champions Aduana Stars, Yusif Abubakar has welcomed their CAF Champions league draw against Libyan side Al Tahaddy and says the team is set to begin preparations towards the tie.
Aduana will travel to Libya for the first leg against Al Tahaddy who qualified for the competition by virtue of winning the 2016/2017 Libyan league, before returning to Dormaa for the second leg.
The Libyan champions are making a return to the competition for the first time in 40 years, while Aduana will be making only their second appearance in the competition, with the first back in 2011.
“Normally when draw like these are made, teams begin active scouting of their opponents, and that is what we are going to do.
“It is good we have a lot of time to prepare, because all the teams that have qualified are good teams. For now we can’t say much about them but we will begin our preparations,” he said.
Aduana will take on either ES Setif of Algeria or Olympique de Bangui of Central African Republic should they beat Al Tahaddy.
