Former Dreams FC head coach, C.K. Akunnor, has revealed to Citi Sports that he is talks with AshGold to stay with the team on a more permanent basis.
Akunnor joined the team from Dreams FC last season in a move that was designed to help the Miners fight off relegation from the Ghana Premier League.
He managed to guide the team to safety and they ended up in 10th place on 41 points. He said to Citi Sports that he was getting ready to give it another go with the club for next season.
“I am staying with AshGold. I am negotiating with them and it is not a done deal. But if you ask me, I am leaning heavily towards the team.
I need to sign the contract first so my position becomes official but my plan is that, once it is done, we will start pre-season soon. We do not want to give ourselves the same problems from last season and so, we want to be well-prepared for the start of the season.”
Akunnor recorded 10 wins, 4 loses and 3 draws at AshGold last season.
