Ghana’s female U-20 side, the Black Princesses, were beaten to the CAF Women’s National Team of the year award by South Africa’s women’s National team, popularly known as Bayana Bayana.
The Princesses lost out on the prize despite currently enjoying a glittering qualification process for this year’s FIFA U-20 World Cup, which has seen them score 20 goals in their four games so far against Algeria and Kenya, with only Cameroon standing between them and a place at next year’s World Cup.
The Princesses’ form in the 2017 calendar year has saw them shortlisted along with Nigeria’s U-20 team and the eventual winners South Africa.

She first won the prize in 2014 and again in 2016.
