Liverpool duo of Mohammed Salah and Sadio Mane believe that being in the same team has improved their respective performances.
The two, along with Gabon’s Pierre-Emerick Aubamenyang are in contention for the 2017 AITEO CAF Awards which will be held on Thursday night at the Accra International Conference Center.
Salah and Mane scored 43 goals between them for Liverpool in 2017 and they have paid tribute to each other ahead of the Awards ceremony.
“We are in the same team, and we are happy to be in the same team. I always look forward to playing alongside him, and I think a Liverpool player can win the Ballon dor,” Mane said.
“From the first day I arrived at Liverpool, we have been very close friends and we do everything together. I think at the end of the day we push each other to do better and be better,” Salah added.
Salah is overwhelming favourite to succeed Algeria’s Riyad Mahrez as Africa’s top player.
