Philippe Coutinho has finally got his dream move to Barcelona.
Liverpool have agreed a €160million (£142m) deal to sell the Brazilian playmaker to Barca.
Coutinho will become the third most expensive footballer of all-time and the Spanish giants’ record buy.
Reports in the Spanish media had claimed a deal was struck on Friday night between the two clubs.
That has now been confirmed by sources close to Liverpool, with Coutinho on his way to Barcelona to finalise the switch.
He is expected to sign a five-year contract with a minimum release clause of €500million.
Liverpool rejected three bids from Barcelona for Coutinho in the summer and had been determined to keep hold of the 25-year-old.
But with Coutinho making it clear he wants to go and Barca upping their bid to €160million, Reds chiefs decided a move this month is in all parties’ best interests.
The Brazil international moved to Anfield from Inter Milan in 2013 and has made 200 appearances in all competitions for the Premier League club, scoring 54 goals.
