Schalke o4 head coach, Domenico Tedesco, has stated the club’s intentions of bringing Baba Rahman back to Germany for another loan spell in this month’s transfer window.
Rahman is currently recovering from a knee injury he sustained in the 2017 AFCON tournament in Gabon.
But after featuring 21 times for Schalke before the injury, the German club has plans of having the Ghanaian for the second part of this season and even further as reports say Schalke would like a long-term loan deal.
Tedesco stated his plans in an interview with German football portal Kicker on Monday which was quoted by Goal.com.
“One more player would be good for us. I’m thinking about Abdul Rahman Baba for the left wing above all.
“He still has a flat here in Gelsenkirchen, he knows Schalke and Schalke knows him. If we could get him on loan from Chelsea for a longer spell we wouldn’t be averse. We are clarifying now how good his fitness is at the moment.”
In November 2017, Baba Rahman’s representative, Kurt Okraku, told Citi Sports that Schalke was part of a number of teams who were chasing the player’s signature ahead of the January transfer window.
On 29 December 2017, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, said that he would like to give Baba Rahman a shot at getting games at the club but the player would have to fully recover from injury and work his way back into contention.
