The nation’s two biggest teams, Asante Kotoko, were losing sides on the second day of the GHALCA G8 Tournament being played in Cape Coast and Kumasi.
For Asante Kotoko, they were beaten 1-o by Dreams FC at the Baba Yara Stadium thanks to a goal from Richard Addai in the 45th minute after he connected a Zuberu Sharani cross.
The Porcupine Warriors had a chance to get back into the game in the 68th minute when they got a penalty following a foul on Yakubu Mohammed.
However, Frederick Boateng missed the kick and eventually, the Reds were left empty-handed while Dreams got their victory of the tournament.
In the final group match on Sunday, Kotoko will take on Aduana Stars while Dreams and Techiman Eleven Wonder face off.
In Cape Coast, Hearts of Oak experience bigger misery as they were beaten 2-0 by Medeama.
Goals from Kwame Boateng and Agyenim Boateng settled the tie in favour of the Yellow and Mauves.
Kwame Boateng poked into an empty net from a cross in the 18th minute while Agyenim Boateng was on hand to score in the 24th minute when Hearts defender Richard Akrofi failed to send the ball away from the penalty area.
Medeama have now made it two wins out of two while Hearts have a win and a loss to their name.
They face Dwarfs in the final group game while Medeama face Karela FC.
