GHALCA G8: Dreams FC edge Medeama 6-5 on penalties to make final

Thursday 18th January , 2018 5:47 pm

Dreams FC will face Hearts of Oak in Sunday’s final of the GHALCA G6 tournament after they went past Medeama in Thursday’s semi-final.

Just like in Wednesday’s semi-final, the match failed to produce any goals in regulation time.

However, in the second half, Dreams FC thought they had taken the lead when a shot taken by Richard Addae went off the post and seemed to have crossed the line but the referee waved play on.

With Dreams 4-3 up in the shootout, Benjamin Ayim missed the chance to wrap things up and that gave Medeama goalkeeper Yaw Ansah the chance to score to level the score.

In sudden death, Dreams scored through George Jubeng and Medeama responded from Kwesi Donsu.

Abdulai Masud found the net for Dreams to put Dreams but Medeama’s George Yirenkyi had his kick saved by Dreams goalie Isaac Amoako to send them to the final.
