Ghana women’s national team skipper Elizabeth Addo has joined USA topflight side Seattle Reign.

The 24-year-old joins the two-time Shield winners from Swedish club Kvarnsveden where she has been since 2016.

Addo paired up front with Tabitha Chawinga for Kvarnsveden, registering nine goals and eight assists for the club in 2017.

Chawinga has since moved to the Chinese league, handing over to kid sister Temwa Chawinga who has been signed by Kvarnsveden.

Addo, who was earlier linked to a move to Boston Breakers, becomes the third African in the league.

South African Janine van Wyk currently suits up for Houston Dash and Nigerian Francisca Ordega is on loan at Atletico Madrid from Washington Spirit.

The move comes ahead of a busy year for the Black Queens who are set to feature in the WAFU Women’s Cup next month.

Later in the year, Ghana will host the 2018 African Women’s Cup of Nations, which will double as the CAF qualifiers for the 2019 World Cup.
