Ghana’s Jordan Ayew scored the first of Swansea City’s two goals against Sheffield Wednesday in an English FA Cup 5th round replay played at the Liberty Stadium on Tuesday evening.
Ayew put the ball into the net in a rebound effort after Tom Carroll’s shot hit both goal posts.
The goal was Ayew’s 9th of the season and he scored just ten minutes after he had been introduced into the game.
He later combined with Tammy Abraham who went on to set up Nathan Dyer for the second goal.
Swansea’s progression to the quarter final sets them with the winner of the tie between Tottenham and Rochdale which will be played on Wednesday at Wembley.
It will be Swansea’s first quarter final appearance in the last 8 of the English FA Cup in 54 years.
