Accra Hearts of Oak CEO Mark Noonan believes the club and its fans must psych themselves ahead of the change in home venue following their 1-0 defeat in a friendly encounter against Elmina Sharks.
The match took place at the Cape Coast Stadium,a ground Hearts have adopted as their home base in the wake of the renovation work currently happening at the Accra Sports Stadium.
He pointed out that despite the constraints presented by their new home ground, excuses must be avoided once the league commences.
“The places near home that we looked at potentially could put our players at harm.
“The playing surfaces, the dressing room and things like that,so there was a trade off.
“Do you trade off distance vs quality of venue,or do you take the lack of a quality venue because it is closer?
“Either way we are gonna have to make some sacrifices till Accra Sports Stadium is back.
“It is not an ideal situation but it is one we are not going to make excuses for.
“I hope our supporters don’t make excuses either because we need them behind us.
“Whether it is here or on the road because we cannot win without strong supporters,” he insisted.
