Ghana and Schalke 04 defender Abdul Baba Rahman has returned to training following a cruciate ligament injury to his left knee.
The injury occurred during Ghana’s opening match of the Afcon 2017 and has kept the player out for well over a year.
The 23 year old has suffered a number of setbacks on the road back to fitness but now seems raring to go.
“I’m getting better and better. I’m putting in extra work in the hope of being able to help the team out on the pitch soon.
“I’m lacking in match practice but I’m optimistic I can pick it back up quickly. The atmosphere here is great!”
He is unlikely to make the matchday squad as Schalke target a sixth consecutive win when they engage Freiburg at the Veltins Arena.
